Using Comic Price Guide's (CPG) Comic Book Grading Guide to evaluate your comic books

I've used the Comic Book Price Guides Comic Book Gradiing Guide to evaluate/grade my books for some time. Couldn't help notice that during the last grading contest, it screwed me on more than one occasion! Their guide is much more specific than our CGC grading scale. Has anyone used the CPG's grading guide  before or uses this now? How does it compare with the grades you got back from CGC and whats everyone thoughts on this one, specifically any of our actual CGC graders willing to give their thoughts on the CPG Grading Guide? I've added a link to that guide

Unfortunately GCG has never published their grading standards so, as to what they actually are compared to Overstreet or Heritage is anyone's guess, generically they are probably very close with "corporate secrets" and *'s added in.

I have the Overstreet Grading Guide but I tend to use this...

https://comics.ha.com/tutorial/comics-grading.s?show=comicdefinitions

How does that compare to the comicspriceguide grading standards?

Also remember, two people looking at the same thing may not always see the same thing, grading is subjective, even with CGC.

Also, when in doubt or on the fence about a grade, I always grade lower, not higher.

Outstanding insight and advice! Thanks I very much appreciate that!

additionally, I can't imagine a cgc employee (let alone an actual grader) would publicly (in any useful way) give their thoughts on the grading standards of any other company.

I have used the Overstreet Grading Guide (2nd edition) for a very long time as a grading standards reference, and it had made me pretty close regarding what to expect when my books return from CGC (barring some outliers).

I've never heard of CPG before.

They have a site where they log values on books new and old. They have grading scales listed that they say they compiled based on CGC's and "other" sources. I havent used them in awhile but I do consult them from time to time to get a rough idea on a books value and condition. If you want to check them out click this link https://comicspriceguide.com/  and under their "Price Guide" tab you will find their grading guide listed.
