Captain Midnight #27 Crippen "D" Copy Certificate looking for it's Book 1 1

The certificate below is lost and looking for it's books owner.

So if you own the Captain Midnight #27 Crippen "D" Copy and are missing the certificate I have it.

Just trying to help this cert find it's home.

It's been a couple years since I've bumped this post still looking for the owner of this book so I can reunite it with this cert.

Or does anyone know of another site to search?

You might try searching through the CGC registry (there are quite a few Capt Midnight entries).

I tried the registry and didn't find anything, I know it Sold on Sep 24, 2006 Heritage and the CGC Cert is #0745076002

Heritage should know.  They might not tell you, but wouldn't they pass on the info to the buyer?

I thought that also and will contact, but who knows if that buyer still owns it, I just hate to toss it!

Consign it to Heritage. You may get a few bids.

Well I can help with the mystery a bit but not really. I just remembered buying a Captain Midnight book (the only one I ever purchased) years ago when that Crippen collection first hit Heritage. 

I just checked my heritage account and sure enough . . .it was that book!  Anyhow, it did come with that certificate. I was just starting to collect a bit of golden age and it was affordable.

However, I sold the book a year or two later and of course the certificate went with it. I didn't keep records of who I sold things to so that is as far as the help goes with me.

Hard to remember things from 15 years ago or so. Wish I would have bought then what I ended up collecting now which is PCH. Hindsight is always 20/20

That was a great sale... I picked up quite a few Crippen's at what seemed like high prices at the time, but now bargains by today's standards.

Can't say the same is likely to happen with the Promise books.

That's great info small world!  I think that I got it when I bought some EC's maybe around 2008 or 2009 or ?? and it was accidentally included between some backer boards and I didn't notice it for some time and like you don't remember who I bought the EC's from.

Yeah a great sale indeed. There were so many books and it went on forever. The first auction everyone was focused on the big “pretty” books and the prices were rather stiff. But as the auctions went on, I managed to pick up a lot of what some would consider “lessor” books and several nice lots at what I thought were pretty decent prices. Time has reinforced the decisions I made at the time. I got a lot of books that at the time were no big deal but now have turned into keys.

That's very true... I'd forgotten that the books auctioned off after the first big auction or two actually went much cheaper.  Just took a quick look and this is one I got for $260!
