PGM Spawn #1 4 4

I previously made a post about asking about a grade on my issue of Spawn #1

I didn’t realize till I had already posted my post and was looking over the photos that this *wasn’t* the Spawn #1 I was actually wanting an assessment on

This is the one I “meant” to ask about 😐

Its definitely got some minor cosmetic flaws, some I’m guessing a good P&C could take care of

Whatever it is there near the spine, I’m less sure of 

I know the pics aren’t the best there, but it’s at least visible 

I want to say it would get like a 9.2-9.4 but I am sure you all know way better than I

If you think it could score even higher, even better 😂

Would this still qualify as a “high grade copy” the way it is here or do all those flaws bring it down hard ☹️?

I think those spine issues are going to hit the book harder than you think, and the back is pretty dirty but maybe it will all be cleaned off. I'd put it at an 8.0 with a C&P (happy to be proven wrong by the group or CGC).

I think 9.2-9.4 is high...personally. I had a 9.6 newsie of this book graded last year and that thing was spotless...This, as is, 8.5-9.0 from me. If the back can be cleaned up, might get you 9.0-9.2

You’re right, that’s just wishful thinking 😔

8.5 is probably more accurate

I'm around a 8.0 with maybe a 8.5 if it cleans up well. Good luck!

It will bump a little with a press.

8.0 and better is high grade in my book. Those are excellent books. 9.2 and higher are extraordinary.

But the sweet spot is 6.0-7.5.

IMO.

(Also, am I procrastinating my contest guesses? )

When this book came out everybody was buying multiple copies and they stashed them away. It’s been a $10 book the last 20 years. There are tons of these that have never been read. Some are starting to make their way out since the price is going up and there is movie talk. Ordinarily a 9.0 would be a high grade but not for this book. Too many 9.8 9.6 out there. Just some thoughts
