Buzzetta
Don't know how they tell but I had a similar cut of a book and I also asked the boards. The consensus was that it was not trimmed. Turns out... it was not trimmed upon being graded by CGC. Edited August 4, 2022 by Buzzetta The Lions Den, silverseeker and Funnybooks
Qalyar
If anything, those fanned pages make me think trimming is less likely than my original take.

Dick Pontoon
It does not appear trimmed based on that edge. We've had input in this thread from a former CGC employee, a fellow who's worked in the printing business for years, and numerous other folks who've been collecting for decades and/or dealing with high value, high grade CGC books plus someone who often likes to be contrary. (Sorry, Bill.) I'd go with the consensus in this case. The Lions Den, grendelbo, silverseeker and 1 other

Trying to recreate that on a book and being consistent with all of the interior pages would be basically impossible unless you had the original dulled cutting blade from the factory and were cutting into exceptionally fresh paper. Everyone who collects silver age Marvels has seen dozens or even hundreds of production cuts like this. It's perfectly normal. silverseeker, Topnotchman and The Lions Den
silverseeker
Put me in the "not trimmed" camp as well... It just looks like a rough production cut, and I would not hesitate to buy a book with this type of cut for my collection.
