as @Ryan. pointed out earlier, the "Eclipse" archives stamp was added afterwards (over 10 years) by a retailer, not by the publisher (no longer existed) and CGC graded these

My TMNT #1 Second Print has two cover grades for double cover.  In grading were both covers graded for this book, seeing as the cover was added at a later date?  Just curious.

As another poster so eloquently stated previously...

I like Danielle CGC Mike and I've always had an awesome professional encounter with her him. When I came back to comics a couple of years ago, I stumbled into the little community she he was building on instragram The CGC Boards and whatnot. I appreciate what she's he's trying to do - expanding the diversity of the comicbook community while having to deal with the BS associated with simply being a woman lumberjack in comics. The amount of energy she he has to spend dealing with misogyny public relations at CGC is ridiculous though, before this C2E2 stuff, her his what not sales admin threads seemed like one for the few places where folks could just be themselves. The comic community is, in my experience, small but isn't tight-knit. Instead, it's full of different smaller communities and those who are fine just collecting/reading/etc. Danielle CGC Mike has been intentionally doing what folks do online now - moving beyond social media and into simply nurturing a community. I doubt there's anything she he could say/type/share that would get everyone degrading her him to stop. She's a woman He's a logger in the comic community and, imo, some believe that gives them permission to attack/insult/etc.  The mere performance/presence of femininity flannel isn't permission for folks to behave the way they have. It is totally possible for folks to critique the whole situation (aka why this not-a-variant exists in the first place, how variants at cons are sold, wtf cgc was doing giving this book a blue label) while, at the same time, reflecting on how we would be reacting if was a white-man with Danielle's CGC Mike's length as a comic dealer collector tied up in this situation.

The reality is if you work for any company, you have the opportunity when asked to either go with the company line or quit, or push back say you won't be an accomplice to this.

So for everyone saying "woe is me"  I've been in similar positions and have pushed back when I felt that I was being used as a scapegoat or disagreed with the company line, I've never had to quit because most companies will understand hear you out.

The answer seems to be no since there aren't inner and outer cover grades listed on the label.  So CGC has violated at least three established grading principles with this frankenbook:

- Blue label instead of GLOD
- No "MARRIED COVER" designation
- No inner and out cover grades listed

We're 40+ pages into this debacle and I still don't understand how anyone could decide to spend $85/$100 for the Black Flag variant, let alone $250 on eBay when they could use that towards an actual 1st print instead.  I mean, I can kind of understand it now because it's a novelty and there's an actual dramatic nebulous story behind the books.  But heading into C2E2 day one when no one was the wiser and just viewed it as another variant...I NEVER would spend money on a glorified reprint when I could better put that money to use buying a 1st print.  The variant market is truly atbay-itshay crazy.

I was in that line at 10:05 am, and even I thought that cover was an abomination. I was more interested in the ASM 1 Homage to #300, than getting a facsimile that just looks gaudy. Not quite sure what they were thinking with this idea, but I still don't think we have seen the fallout (no pun intended) from this. I would think Marvel would have to say something about this with the amount of noise this is causing.

How was the cover attached at a later date?

Easy. Just find a stack of the same raw issue #, strip the cover(s) and manually re-attach all those spare covers by the original staples to create a blue label slabbed multi-cover comic.

So you are saying we are sexist for calling out unethical behavior because a woman was possibly one of the people involved?

I'm not saying she was involved. I've purchased an Action Comics 26 from Danielle and she's a wonderful seller.

Black Flag Comics are to blame for allowing the situation to happen and CGC for slabbing a bootleg.

She was in Sarasota last month attending the CGC Grading Academy - any one with even the slightest business sense would take that opportunity to meet with the c-suites. Just saying.

Black Flag there too? Other "influencers?"  hm
