I enjoy reading the old precode horror stories, even the cheesy ones (especially the cheesy ones?) , but I am wondering if people could share their favorites. I've collected some books for the amazing artwork, and others just for the stories... maybe I can find the best of both worlds? If anything, at least I am looking forward to some spooky stories for the fall season.

Ironic. When I saw this thread, I immediately thought of Shock #9. But the cover story. I remember reading my uncle’s copy as a kid. Actually gave me nightmares and even though I’ve owned and read thousands of horror stories, this is the one I think of first…

I should pull it out and see how the “October Game” compares to the cover story.

Totally different (in a good way), but fits better for a spooky fall (Halloween) story. (thumbsu
