Daredevil 7 Green Label
1 1

So I got a DD7 graded a while back. Green label. Missing page 14. Sigh. Got another one, checked for page 14. It was there. Sent it in, green label. Missing page 14. Cracked it to make sure I wasn’t crazy. It’s there. Is there a pin up I’m missing? Notice the distinct dent in the side that really ID’s this book. Anyone have a raw copy that they can shed some light on this for me?? I’m going crazy. Thank you sooooo much!!

There should be 9 sheets of paper on either side of the staples. One cover on the outside, and 8 interior. As there are two sides (pages) to each sheet, that gives a total of 36 pages.

I open the comic, and count to eight on both sides (I skip the obvious cover).

I submitted a book that was missing a page. Never again!

Technically CGC is incorrect on the number of the "missing page" and their statement on the page number that is missing is very confusing and they should know better, they should have stated that the "pinup page" was missing.

When counting comic book pages the outside front cover is page 1, the inside front cover is page 2, and so on, each individual page is actually 2 pages, front and backside = 2 pages.

Even if you skipped the cover and went by actual page number they would still be incorrect on the missing page number, what they did was start with page 1 of the story and count each page as 1 page which makes the pinup page 14, the pinup is the page after the end of the story.

According to CGC's logic the D.D. 7 only has 16 pages. From MCS on D.D. 7 "36 pages, full color."

As far as I know, CGC has always counted pages that way...  (shrug)

If that is true then I guess everybody else is wrong? :baiting: I feel CGC make things up as they go along and they are not transparent in what they do, (My Opinion Only) but it makes for good comic book back and forth discussion, however, why does everyone accept everything CGC does and says as gospel, you realize they are human just like the rest of us which means..."Not Perfect, Makes Mistakes, Can be Wrong" :whatthe:

Nowhere am I able to find anything that supports CGC's page count theory of both sides = 1 page, (which is the theory they used on the D.D. 7 label) also a "wrap" is technically 4 pages.

From MyComicShop...(bottom row shows how many pages are in D.D. 7 from Apr. 1965)

"In Mortal Combat with Sub-Mariner!" Written by Stan Lee. Art and cover by Wally Wood. Namor hires Franklin and Murdock to sue the human race on his behalf. When this doesn't work, he gets himself arrested so he can have his day in court. Realizing humanity won't listen, the Sub-Mariner goes on a rampage which brings Daredevil into the (hopeless) fray. Namor returns to the sea out of respect for DD and to stop Krang from taking over Atlantis. Sub-Mariner/Daredevil pin-up by Wood. Note: First appearance of Daredevil's red costume. 36 pages, full color. Cover price $0.12.

I accept it for what it is...just a different way of looking at it.

But anyone who deals with CGC should be aware of this---I doubt they're ever going to change.

The problem is/was that nobody except CGC knew what the "missing page 14" was since it was not truly page 14, anybody ever call them out on this to get an explanation?

I believe this subject has been thoroughly discussed before, but there's certainly no harm in explaining it again. You've done an excellent job describing the various methods of counting pages...  (thumbsu
