Share your books from your (10 or 15 year run) 3 3

I thought it might be interesting to share books in year by year order. For example I'm going to post books with publish dates from 1949 to 1963. They don't have to be the books you have that are in the best shape for that year, but they could be. They could be a favorite cover, or just a book that is rarely seen. I'm going to start with three books, from 1949, 1950 & 1951.  I'm going to list just one book per year, but perhaps a second trip through the years could happen down the road.

1949 This book was my first Golden Age purchase. "Sky Rips the Iron curtain" is an excellent clue as to the book's time frame.

From 1950, late in the 160+ issue run, is Jumbo Comics #142, and I might add a fairly recent acquisition.

1951 Another recent pick-up, and a cover I have looked for for several years before connecting with this copy. I really enjoy the depiction of the British soldier and Tomahawk, who seems to effortlessly repulse the red coats charge.

Hard to believe that Space Patrol as a TV series lasted for 5 years, but only two comics books were published.

Following an exhaustive search for scans I have books 6-8 ready.

1954  Little green monsters were all the rage since 1947 Roswell N.M.

1955 A lightly populated year in my collection.

 

1956   A Russ Heath cover

Might as well continue the run, 1963 - 1980, my Marvel collecting years as a youth were 65-69, started collecting again in 79, other than ROM, 1980 is about as far as I go, the majority of the  newer stuff from 1980-up was given to my Son when he started collecting when he got out of the Navy in 97.
