I’m just curious how bad it looks to you guys 😐

I mean as much as I wish it were like 8.0 I think it’s safe to say it’s not 😂

It’s got spine tics

It’s got a corner that’s a little bent up

and it’s got a spot that looks like a bit of color rub

I’m guessing it’s mid-grade at best, but I want some informed opinions to kind of temper whatever expectations I might have

Thanks

5.5±0.5. A 6.0 is a stretch as it appears there's some staining/soiling along edge of the back cover, bottom edge. CGC might hammer that and put it in the lower end. I have a 5.5 with minimal defects & a little more staining, which makes me think this could be a 5.0 by their standards.

Yeah...that’s fair

Thank you for your input

I know a C&P isn’t magic, but do you think it could bump it up maybe 0.5?

I mean even if it didn’t, it couldn’t hurt 😐

Maybe. I'm pro-C&P even if it's to improve the presentation or remove bends that aren't obvious. You want someone who's competent. I had two books return from CCS/CGC with detached staples in the notes and I have no recollection of detachments. I suspect pressing stressing weaker paper. Someone you're working iwth closely/personally might tell you not to risk pressing certain books.

I am very grateful for everyone’s responses so far

And I’d say you’re probably all right on the money that this is a 5.5 at best

What’s a little disappointing about this fact is that it means that pressing it, never mind C&P and grading, costs more than the book would be worth

I mean getting it graded at 5.5 by CGC would cost me twice what the book is worth, not including the shipping cost to and from Florida 😐

Sure I could do it just to have it as presentable as possible for my own PC, but I’d be losing money just for the privilege 😥

I accept that just how it is, but it’s just a bit disheartening to be presented with the cold reality there 😔
