GREAT Comics #3

Raw VG-/VG

Previously CGC graded (3.5 blue) but has been removed from slab

Really hard to let this one go, but a sweet old guitar is calling my name!  Wanted to offer here first, have made many great deals on the boards over the years.

 

Removed this from the slab many years ago so I could enjoy the amazing interior art and stories, the Hitler cover story is so crazy!  CGC’s grade of 3.5 is fair I guess but I think they were a little harsh and it could go to 4.0 easily.  Main problem is creasing on the cover but it still has great eye appeal, supple pages.  Cover and all pages are tight at the staples.   No restoration.  It lacks many defects which are allowable in VG (writing, tape, tears, cover/cf detached at a staple) and has a solid spine without much wear.  It has not been pressed and looks to me like a good candidate for pressing if you’re so inclined.

 

I’ve attached at the end a pic of the book when still in the slab, I kept the label after removal but have misplaced it, if I can find it I will of course include it.

 

A cgc 4.5 just sold at Heritage for $15,600 with b.p. so I think this is a good deal!

Thanks, its a 1930 Gibson acoustic, an L-2 model, that belongs to a friend, he finally agreed to sell it to me.  I already have an L-0 and L-1 from that year and just love 'em.

I have a bunch of old electrics too, would still love to get a 50s Tele at some point but the prices are crazy.

Nice! Here is me in about 1968 with the used ‘50’s Tele my dad bought for me at a pawn shop. Yep, still have it and play it all the time.

But I have a lot, have a hard time playing each and every one, don't need any more.

I haven't bought comics at "current prices" since the mid-90's, so it's not like I can switch from spending on one to the other.

I wanted a Les Paul, I bought a Les Paul. I wanted an ES-335, I bought an ES-335. So now I am done.

I just have to show restraint!
