Mars76
I learned my lesson from my last submission and pressed all these books before I sent them in. This one has some heavy foxing in the back but is an otherwise very nice looking book. marvelmaniac
Lower corners have small creases that break color, denting with color rub along bottom edge, slight staple tears on lower staple, minor color rub in the blue areas of the cover, moderate foxing/staining on rear cover. I do not have my books graded, however it is my understanding that CGC is very harsh on staining, taking that into consideration. Between the staining and color breaking crease at the lower right corner, IMO... 8.5 VERY FINE+ (VF+):Â Â Back to Top Fits the criteria for Very Fine but with an additional virtue or small accumulation of virtues that improves the book's appearance by a perceptible amount. 8.0 VERY FINE (VF):Â Â Back to Top An excellent copy with outstanding eye appeal. A limited accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed. Cover is relatively flat with minimal surface wear beginning to show, possibly including some minute wear at corners. Inks are generally bright with moderate to high reflectivity. An unnoticeable 1/4" crease is acceptable if color is not broken. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. Minor foxing. Spine is almost completely flat with a possible minor color break. Staples may show some discoloration. Very slight staple tears and a few almost insignificant stress lines may be present. Paper is cream to tan and supple. Centerfold is mostly secure. Minor interior tears at the margin may be present. Mars76

I got the CGC book and it says foxing over the entire cover is a 4.0-6.0 range. However, it does not give a difference between front & back. I'd think front is worse obviously. The front does look good, but I'm going to go with 5.5±0.5 based on what I've experienced. Mars76
mephistopheles
Not sure what your risk tolerance is, but some of the pressers can remove foxing like that with a peroxide solution & hot press. Mars76
Bayowolf
Front is great 8.5/9.0..but back like 6.0. Get it cleaned, if it can be. Then maybe get 8. Mars76 and grendelbo

Yeah, I think so too. 8.0. Probably no lower than 7.5. Thanks for posting. Mars76
I Am The Answer!
The Answer is: That back cover, yikes! 6.0 as is for me. Cleaned might get you to a 7.5. Mars76
LowGradeBronze
I think it'll come back 6.0 with that discoloured back cover. Still a really sharp book and a personal fave of mine! I love motorcycles in comics (and real life.) I really like the back cover ad too. Class A racing looks a lot of fun. Anyone know if it lived up to its looks? Edited December 21, 2022 by LowGradeBronze Mars76

I didnt become aware of that process until a week after I sent my books in. I'm gonna definitely keep that in mind if I ever choose to sell this book in the future.
Mars76
I was not aware of the light box process when I sent this in but it's nice to know that that option is available in the future. Still very happy with how this book looks like in the case scburdet and grendelbo

I went & checked mine after your original post. The sticker from the sale says 8.5/VF+ but I noticed one corner has a small stain, guaranteeing yours would be the higher grade at CGC. I might post mine later for kicks. Someone also needs to explain to me why this book's FMV (2nd GR appearance) is lower than GR 1 (8th GR appearance). I will not accept that GR 1 has the 1st cameo of Son of Satan since his first full appearance is lower than both 🤔 Mars76

LowGradeBronze
Good result and I'm pleased for you. It does look handsome in that case. Now you need a reader copy. Mars76
