Bradynel
Hi, New here and had a question. Is this worth sending into CGC to get graded? It will cost me $100 to get the spine roll fixed and pressed, then shipping from and back to Canada and the CGC costs. So call it around $200 CAD when all is said and done. Before I proceed or don't I would like your opinions on the matter. As I was flipping through my comic to take pictures the center page decided to become detached. So there is a loose page in the center of the book. Only the middle page is loose, everything else is attached. No cutouts or missing pages. Thank you! LowGradeBronze
All that spine wear, rippage (new word) and a detached centrefold makes for a 1.8 or 2.0 at best in my humble. But still worth submitting. I'd keep raw for the pure pleasure of having a copy to handle but your needs may vary. Bradynel
scburdet
Concur with 2.0 being the ceiling. Recent ebay sales for CGC graded 2.0s are between $600-1000. To me this is bananas for low grade copies, but there are raws that look to be higher grade by several points selling for the same price. I guess it depends on your plans & how much you've sunk into the book already. If you're going to sell it, there's a lot of buffer for ROI on $150 USD to send it. Nilo2
I would send it in. Eye appeal counts for a lot, especially in lower grade books. Your copy isn't missing any pieces and looks like it would definitely benefit from a clean and press. The grade will always be in the 2.0 range given the defects, but it will be a great looking 2.0 which makes all the difference on the market. JollyComics
More likely 2.0 - heavy spine roll and large staple tears on the cover and 1st wrap even the cover is still attached at both staples. Bradynel
