arDeaton
It doesnt appear to be spine stress nor does it look like corner ware do to handling. I've seen it a few times and it always looks the exact same. Could it be some sort of manufacturing defect? theCapraAegagrus
Is that just a tick all the way at the top? It certainly could be a MFG defect. arDeaton

Lazyboy
It looks like a bindery tear, though the image is poor. arDeaton and grendelbo

Or, could this be what used to be called Bumped Stock, when the comics are still in their bundle and dropped so 'X' number of comics share the impact but because they are all bound together they support each other so the damage is less (the bending is less at least,) than if the same impact happened to one comic. In this case the damage is very slight. Edited February 17, 2023 by LowGradeBronze arDeaton and grendelbo

marvelmaniac
Bindery Teara small horizontal rip found on the spine in a book’s cover that can usually be seen from the front to the back. if a bindery tear is shorter than 1/4″, then these can be graded like a spine stress. https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/483734-bindery-tears/ https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/392644-bindery-tears-as-production-related-flaws/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaeN6n4gXJY https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/456281-corner-dent-pressable/ arDeaton
