icp004
Would like you opinions on my Secret Wars 8. This is the best surviving of my childhood spinner rack purchases still in my possession. Debating whether or not to send off for c&p and green label. Zeck signed for me at Baltimore several years back. Thanks!!! Edited September 6 by icp004 Title
Mars76
9.0 as is. I think a cnp would help bump it up a grade, or two. The spine and corners all look sharp. There's just some creasing and bends that look like they can be smoothed out. Edited February 21, 2023 by Mars76 icp004
scburdet
9.0/9.2 There is another comic grading company that will verify signatures if label color is important. Zeck's signature is pretty distinct and you know it's provenance, so goof chance it would be verified. icp004
LowGradeBronze
I'm at 9.0 here. You looked after your childhood mags very nicely! Congrats on the Mike Zeck sig. icp004

Popular Post icp004
Had decided not to grade until the JSA purchase. Pleasantly surprised. This was one I pulled off the spinner rack myself so it’s a keeper. I owe a big thanks to @joeypost ThothAmon, JollyComics, grendel013 and 3 others 5

Billbic
Nice book...I saw the comments about the grade before I saw the actual grade and was thinking the 9.0-9.4 were a bit harsh...I was thinking 9.6 or outside shot at 9.8 with good press...so even though im a newbie at grading good to know im not totally off base...though I do have a decent pile of 9.4's and 9.6's that I was 100% sure were 9.8's when I sent them in...so what do I know?:)! tmac100
Did you clean and press the book after posting the pictures and before grading? I think that's always the challenge with estimating a grade pre-clean & press. The front cover looked perfect. Can we see the back cover? There were things on the back cover that left as is looked like would limit the book to a 9.0, but if they were addressed the book easily could be a 9.8. It's always interesting to see pre- and post- clean & press pictures to see how effective it can be.

If you are ever curious about an un-posted back cover image, all CGC graded comics for about the last year have the pictures included when you verify the CGC Certification via https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/. In a thread like this there is a good chance the OP will post the requested picture, but it is a useful tip when bidding on auctions that don't see fit to post that back cover image. It's not my image to post, but I checked it out and it looks nice!
rexinnih
Congrats on the grade. I had an off the shelf copy I sent in years ago and came back 8.5. Resubmitted with pressing for a Shooter CGC Sig Series a few years ago and came back 9.6. Signatures seem to help this one
