batmiesta
Thought I would conduct a little experiment, this book was graded by CGC, I cracked it out and just wanted to test you lot's grading ability, so what do you think it was?

scburdet
Corners see less than square. Some kind of color break on the TLFC one. There's something on the back cover. I'd guess 9.2±0.2, although it matters when it was graded. The standards do seem to have shifted over time. batmiesta
LowGradeBronze
9.2 was my estimate too. Honest guv. Gotta love a Gulacy cover! Edited February 21, 2023 by LowGradeBronze batmiesta

The back is what hammered it I think, front looked good, but as you rightly pointed out, got to check those back covers. scburdet
JollyComics
Before you cracked it out, was the label newer, 1st or 2nd generation? It depends on which generation of those graders who were softer or tighten on the grades. Mars76

batmiesta
you were bang on 9.2 is correct, got to admit I was shocked, but made a school boy error by not checking the back cover. grendelbo
LowGradeBronze
Well there ya go! No need to send anything off to Florida, just ask the CGB here, (Consensus Grading Board) for an average grade and one will be offered. That'll be 50 quid plus vat. Payable in lupins. grendelbo and travizb 1
