Ixthinon
I recently purchased a Hulk 181 and it is a fairly decent copy but it does have some vertical speckling that runs down the left hand side about mid-book. I was wondering if this printers defect would effect the grade and if so, what is the maximum grade a book could have that has this. I hear it is a common thing for this book to have and its well-known to those who handle this book on the regular. Thank you !
Administrator KaileeS CS Posted March 7, 2023 Administrator Share Posted March 7, 2023 Hello @Ixthinon, thank you for contacting CGC. I do see that we do have notations in our system on this book that there is a common printing defect near the front cover spine. Manufacturing errors can result in a minor downgrade in some cases, depending on how much the book is affected. With that said, we cannot provide you with a direct answer on what the maximum grade could be on a book with this error. That would be up to the graders' discretion once we had the book in-hand to evaluate. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. He told me it was a printers defect and that lots copies have that same vertical speckling.
