I'm sending it off for grading just for the fun of it, but I wanted to get y'alls impression. I don't want to take it out of the bag because I'm terrified lol. Just first blush impressions I guess.

A few thoughts on what you've shared.

People will be quick to tell you that you can't give accurate information with a photo like that. You'll need back cover scans and so on.... With that said, this copy is generally low grade and assuming the back cover is present and generally consistent with the front cover, you can get good directional info. 

The good:

It looks like the colors held up well, and it's still relativity presentable aside from obvious defects. 

The bad

Big pieces missing from the front cover.

Creasing  

That top staple could be popped (hard to tell from that photo) 

The ugly

The big pieces missing from the cover go through multiple pages of the book. (Upper left) 

Dent 3 inches up impacts all pages

Pages look somewhere between brittle - cream. 

 

Assuming the book is complete and in tact you've got a fairly solid, all be it low grade copy. A 1.8 sold for $523 in February.  That's probably a pretty good comp for this book after grading.

Is this Big $$$$$? Without doing any research, I would've kept this in bag/board. If you're looking to sell, then getting the authenticity/restoration check from CGC is a good idea, IMO.
