That Spidey spine tick produced my worst result, and I almost went 8.5 on the Daredevil for the corner creasing.  8+7+4 = 19 pts. so far.

 

All 5 of these grades were the exact same ones that I gave them.

On my initial look I had daredevil between 9.0 and 9.4    I thought the Batman book looked better than a 4.0

I thought the Batman was a 4.0/4.5 tweener and guessed 4.0. Not an awful-looking copy, but the spine appears to have some pretty deep welts... I suspected that with the cover open you'd see pinpricks of missing cover stock all along there.

I had the Looney Tunes at 7.0 initially and I'm surprised that spidey got a 9.2, I was thinking 9.0 max. So-so round for me.

Loony Toones did not just have wear at each corner, its freaking missing sizable pieces/chunks in 3 of the 4 corners! Rex shows a heck of a lot better than that book as its not missing sizable corner pieces in 3 of the 4 corners!  Some imaginary stain on the bottom of the front cover is not visible from the scan, perhaps from the interior cover, but we don't have that benefit.  I had those two grades flipped around and think the grades on those two books are literally loony tunes!

Indeed. Given the grading notes, and most members contrary opinions, do you think they could have got those two grades mixed up?

To my eye, the DD168 looked lower grade than the ASM78.  The crunched lower right corner on the DD was, for me, a more substantial defect than any on the ASM.

The grade that shocks me in this group is the Looney Tunes and its 3 significant missing corner chunks.

That's why it's a 7.0 Namisgr. They deducted one for each corner.

It is a very bright and glossy GA book with good structure. The missing pieces for me suggested 6.5 (I have a WDC&S about the same age with similar issues that is a 6.0 and this one looked a touch brighter). I was still a bit surprised at 7.0, but it's not outrageous.

Agree completely. So many 7.5s with 1 tiny minor piece missing.

7.0 on that is just completely bewildering to me.
