When i started to buy comics i buyed a lot of DC Rebirth Comics from 3 series.

Actual demand for it is very restraint.

But there are some points which make me hope the value grow up. Lets me explain. But before see pictures. >

So, i think after the New 52 disaster, most of people will retain a positiv opinion of Rebirth. And now about the series i collected.

there are 84 for issues from the Williamson Run on Flash. This is one of the greatest succes of the rebirth era and Williamson be acclamaimed for it.

Next we have Batman the 50 first issues. Tom king run is not amazing but it still good and in any case we speak about Batman...

Finally 50% of the Tomasi Run on Superman, good review overall.

After read that what's your opinion, speculation on these books?

I generally store my comics in boxes

They tend to wear over time, hosue moves, things like that, so I buy new boxes periodically

Bags and boards are important, I tend to do a change out every 10 years or so

For slabs, a sturdy cardboard box, or the box they've been shipped to me is well enough. I also tend to keep my slabs in the plastic bags they come with. Some of those bags are thicker than others, but I don't mind, bags tend to keep the scuffs down.

So far this method has worked for long term storage (10 plus years) but for each their own!

Not sure you really look what it was about but your comment still interessant because im actually searching how to conserve the most precious part of my collection.

I would say that speculation on modern comics is likely to lead you to disappointment and having too many comics! Buy what you like and if you like it a lot, buy 2 copies. One to read and one to keep in high grade. Job done! Then, if fortune smiles upon you and your taste in comics proves to be a good investment, then you are a winner!

The most popular and hence high demand/high value books from any era are (arguably) Marvel and you are a die hard DC fan. You may be waiting a very long time before these have any real value.

Thanks, good resonning. When im started comics i choosed to go with my favourite charachters current parution because i thinked buy ancient comics is too expensive but i I quickly saw that I was wrong and now i have invested on more ancient comics and not really always read the recent books because the art and wrighting is not does for me.

I am in the process of picking these runs up as well for some summer reading.  I agree with the previous poster though, I wouldn’t expect these to really go up in value. Collect what you enjoy though!

Of course, some pricy books from the last few decades are expensive because very few people expected them to go up in value (think: Newsstand editions, reprints, preview books, etc.). DC spec has been dead for some time, so I wouldn't be surprised if they put together a good slot of movies and people start paying a lot more attention to the books. That said, it'll probably only be key first appearances that really end up being worth the storage space (assuming you're only holding onto them for the potential of price appreciation, and not because you want them in your collection).

I think when movies bump up interest (and prices) of older books the price increase seems to stick better. With more modern books the bump may not last as long and could be seen as confected. Moderns make smaller ripples generally in the comics pond. Some notable exceptions to that like UF4.

I just feel that chasing a monetary return on investment for Moderns is backing the wrong horse.

A friend of mine and I have this discussion pretty frequently, which really encompasses everything about comic collecting in the sense that…

Best practices are what LowGradeBronze is saying, that, collecting what you like is the only way you will definitively come out ahead.

But this isn’t just about moderns. It’s all comics. Based on what we see in the market, there’s no such thing as a guarantee… and we all could pull numerous examples about that.

If you’re asking for my opinion, you’ll get a different answer, because we are talking about specific characters, and specific likes, and personal beliefs.

Outside of my own personal biases:

  1. Read comics
  2. Buy what you like
  3. Buy/Submit for 9.8 grades in books you think you’d want to sell down the road
  4. Don’t bet the farm

As a fellow DC collector and modern speculator I think you are overvaluing the Rebirth books you have and undervaluing the New 52 runs. The first 50 King Batman books are a decent to very good read based on the story arc but do not have anything in the way of new characters of note (and nothing in his run comes close to the New 52 Snyder/Capullo Owls then Death of the Family arcs IMHO). There are three books with a bit of value - 24, 37 & 38 - but not much in the way of new 1st apps as King was focused on story arcs with existing characters. The Tynion run after him is where you want to start if speculation is your main focus. While King was hesitant to introduce new elements, the writers after him have added quite a few new characters.

WRT flash, the key book in the Rebirth Flash run is #6, 1st full Godspeed and cover, but I don't see it in the pictures you posted. There are other 1st apps in the pics you posted, but none that are of any importance yet. I can't comment on the quality of the read as I don't read Flash.

Superman is dead as a spec or anything of value book. I hope it is a good read as from a speculation standpoint Supes has been dead since Doomsday.

As others have noted, outside of the Batman-family titles DC is a non-starter value-wise for the most part. Just buy the books you like and don't worry about future price speculation. You will likely need to hold them a long time to see a worthwhile pop. For storage I would suggest the following method - put them in a single modern polybag then put the bagged book into a silver/regular bag and board. That seems to prevent the back cover back ink rub/transfer on backing boards that we see from direct long term contact.

Store all books in Mylites (Mylar is an inert, acid free material that is Archival Safe and lasts a lifetime, If you have books stored in Poly Bags, the bags should be replaced every 5 years.) with Acid Free Backing Boards and placed in Comic Book Storage Boxes, stored in a Controlled Environment (Temps about 70 degrees and 40-50% humidity). Keep all books away from any UV Light (Sunlight, Incandescent and Flouresant Lighting) (LED bulbs do not emit UV), Do not store books near sources of heat, moisture or in an unfinished/non climate controlled Attic, Garage, Basement or Outside Structure. Safes and Safety Deposit Boxes accumulate moisture, if you are storing books in either of those a Dessicant must be placed with the books and replenished periodically.

If you wish to display any books, be sure to place the books in UV Protected Frames, CGC slabs are Not UV Protected, they do sell UV protected frames for graded books.
