Is the spine the main reason this would drop a lot of grades?

Spine wear like this is a killer. Start point for grading is structure. I'd say 2.5 here.

Nothing special really, it's just a price reduction stamp, but over in Silver Age there's a long running thread all about the UK Distribution of US Published comics where stamps are noted and catalogued for all sorts of forensic reasons to do with who distributed what and when in the UK. There are dock strikes, and other events that caused interruptions to the supply and distribution that interest  some of us Brits, and one or two stateside as well, since it's so intricately connected with making sense of the collecting experience, going back to childhood in the dim distant 1960s & 70s. And best of all it's peppered with Anglo Saxon humour and nonesense from time to time! Try it, you might like it!
