Inner well damage?
1 1

I recently picked up a CGC slab from one of my LCS and noticed this strange bubbling/rippling effect that goes the full length of the inner well. It kind of looks like dried up glue, but I didn’t think CGC glues their inner wells. It’s not touching the book at all, but I have no idea what it is.

Can anyone help me figure what this is and whether I should be concerned?

Got it. I wasn’t aware that the sonic welding process can result in the streak. Also glad to know it doesn’t do damage to the book nor detract from the book’s value. Thanks!
