How do I know my book's value, before I send it for grading?

Use a number you think is realistic based on your ability to grade, looking at comparables, etc.

Keep in mind that if you value a $1000 comic at $200, and CGC loses or wrecks it, $200 is the most you will be compensated. Undervalue at your own risk. Including being lost or damaged on the way back.

And sometimes CGC will charge you for the higher tier anyway, if they see it was undervalued.

@SSSnake has a good reference @Rare Treasures

the summary is this: if CGC loses your book; then what is the value they’d have to reimburse you for the item you submitted.  Just follow that guideline and you’ll more or less have the CGC policy nailed down.

A good resource: Go to eBay and find some listings for a similar quality book of your title, and use that as reference for coming up with the value.
