Got the book for a steal at a flea market and was trying to get an idea what it might grade at and if it would be worth it to get it pressed and cleaned. Any advice and insight is much appreciated. scburdet Posted July 18, 2023 Share Posted July 18, 2023 2.5/3.0. The tanning is dark enough for it to be lower than what the amount of creasing/tearing might allow. Pressing might get some spine roll out, but it could also cause damage to the stapled cover/pages. I don't think it improves the grade, but might look a touch better. Might not be worth the risk. I figured the tanning would be an issue. Would that lighten or come out with a cleaning? I have a local guy that I could maybe see if he would just clean it without pressing, because I agree the staple wear makes pressing risky.
