  1. Yeah I looked up a few other cgc scans and I didn't find any with it. It does look like ink smudging though, maybe from distribution? Any idea if a clean can get rid of that since it's on a plain white background? And would that be the main thing holding it back from higher than a 9.2?
  2. Hey all, picked up a nice copy of xmen 266 over the weekend. I'm planning on getting it cleaned and pressed because I don't see any color breaks on it, I'm hoping that will clear up any minor imperfections (mainly the non color breaking spine tics and the top left corner crunch) however I'm mainly concerned about the ink(?) On the back. Would that be a stain or a printing defect? And would a clean help clear that up? Any insight is appreciated, thanks!
  3. Definitely can't complain! Book presents great and I'm very excited to display it
  4. Avengers 2 11/63 Marvel Comics Grader Notes: stacking bend moderate cover tanning moderate creasing to cover moderate spine stress lines to cover moderate staining to cover
  5. Not too bad, based on the notes it seems like the chips got hit pretty hard, but solid otherwise "Grader Notes: light spine stress lines to cover small chip out left top of back cover small chip out left top of front cover very light cover tanning"
  6. Over the moon with this one! Thought 3.0 was the absolute limit. Not bad for an $80 flea market find!
  7. I appreciate the response! That totally makes sense about the staples. I mostly just meant that the fact that they raise the cover and can create an unsmooth surface shouldn't affect grading. But if they poke through or cause color loss then it absolutely would. And there is a small tear on the spine but the paper is all still there. It just got kind of bunched up.
  8. Hey there, picked up a nice copy today for my personal collection, wanted to see what you all thought. It's my first square bound book so I was a bit panicked about the staples creating an outline on the front cover, but from what I've read, that seems to have no affect on these grade of those. Any insight would be much appreciated. I would plan on pressing it if it could get it high enough. Thanks!
  9. It was a dollar Bin find, not even bagged or boarded. Couldn't believe it stayed in such good shape. What do you think the grade is before and after a press for the top back slight crease and the non color breaking stress lines? How much would the tiny tiny chip on the back affect it? Also not sure what the line at the top right is. Definitely doesn't seem like a scratch, but I'm curious to hear what you all think. Thanks!
  10. I appreciate the insight! Probably not worth it then, especially since it's not a key issue.
  11. Colors are more vibrant than the scan and pics seem to show. Mainly concerned about the upper left corner chip. Let me know what you all think!
  12. Got this one for cheap so may go the extra mile with a clean and press if you all think it may help. Thanks for any insight!
  13. Also do you think a clean and press would help some of the minor issues and possibly bump it up enough to be worth it?
  14. Thanks for the reply! I did not notice the staple pop, no idea how I missed that haha. Front cover and centerfold are definitely still attached though.
  15. Hey all wanted to see what you thought of this one. It's in pretty good shape over all, mainly just concerned about the pen marks and how much that may bring it down. Thanks for any insight!
