ADAMANTIUM
I'm tied for 11th place or something I think that is a 1st, but just glad that 8 and 8 is consistent for me, which I think is the usual midpack. frozentundraguy
Popular Post zzutak
According to Mike's grade distribution table, 114 players completed Round 2 (down from 128 at sign-up and 121 in Round 1). Here are the key measures of central tendency for this round (Mean = the average grade; Median = the middle grade in a numerically rank-ordered list; Mode = the most common grade): Book CGC Grade Distribution Statistics # Grade Mean Median Mode 6 6.5 6.0 6.0 6.0 7 5.0 4.3 4.5 4.5 8 7.0 6.6 6.5/7.0 7.0 9 6.0 6.6 6.5 7.0 10 5.5 6.9 7.0 7.0 The Board scored 99 bulls-eyes in Round 2 (17% of all grades submitted, compared to 23% in Round 1). Here are a few other notable observations based on the data reported above: Book #06 (More Fun #102): A challenging book for the Board as a whole, with only 17% of the contestants at the same grade as CGC and only 54% within one grade increment of CGC. Collectively, the Board was one grade increment more critical than CGC (6.0 vs 6.5). Book #07 (Harvey Library #1): Another challenging book for the Board as a whole, with only 18% of the contestants at the same grade as CGC and only 52% within one grade increment of CGC. Collectively, the Board was about one and one-half grade increments more critical than CGC (4.3 vs 5.0). Book #08 (TTA #11): The easiest book for the Board as a whole, with 26% of the contestants at the same grade as CGC and 61% within one grade increment of CGC. However, collectively, the Board was nearly one grade increment more critical than CGC (6.6 vs 7.0). Book #09 (ASM #38): Yet another challenging book for the Board as a whole, with only 18% of the contestants at the same grade as CGC and only 46% within one grade increment of CGC. Collectively, the Board was slightly more than one grade increment more lenient than CGC (6.6 vs 6.0). Book #10 (HOS #92): An impossible book for the Board as a whole (as a result of the hidden/undisclosed interior moisture staining), with only 8% of the contestants at the same grade as CGC and only 24% within one grade increment of CGC. Collectively, the Board was nearly three grade increments more lenient than CGC (6.9 vs 5.5). Time for a visit to my health/wellness advisor; then, it's on to the back nine (or, in this case, the back ten) ...... If I'm honest, I never really expect to win, while I do I hope I do BETTER at the least. It's just nice to know, especially if you're not out buying raws yourself all the time, just to keep sharp. Study to show yourself approved, then be worthy of your hire. Lol it's like an exam test every three to four months, iron sharpens iron and all the good stuff! Hudson
Just a quick thank you to @zzutak for providing the breakdown and even including the three different averages (and an explanation as to what each average represents). As a "numbers guy", I really appreciate his taking the time to do this. One addtional stat (if I may). After round 1 Average Score: 7.39 (mean) Standard Deviation: 3.06 After round 2 Total Average Score: 16.82 (mean) Standard Deviation: 5.79 zzutak and Point Five

I actually moved up in the standings after (in my opinion) totally fouling up the last round. I hope my reaction to that, gut feeling grades for round 3, don't prove to have been a bad idea.
