Microchip
With the advent of Newsstand books now being included as a defined categorisation of variant with CGC, there are several issues that come to mind from that will affect collectors, their existing CGC books, and their registry sets. All the existing newsstand books already graded, represents a huge volume of books. What is anticipated as the process for getting books updated, and recorded on the census (and the registry) as Newsstand books? A. The books will need to be sent back to CGC for re-slabbing, and updating of the books details. B. The books can be requested to have their newsstand status updated on the census, with the owner of the book providing a scan of the book, confirming it is a newsstand copy, and a clear image of books certification #. The process of re-submitting books to have their labels updated to include the Newsstand will be costly, and consume a large amount of time. I suspect the the process would easily cover over a decade, if not longer, given the vast number of newsstand books out there. The issue is for collectors who already taken the time, and expense of having their books graded, is there a process by which they can have their books (the certification numbers) registered as a newsstand edition, without going through the process of re-submission, for the inclusion of their books as newsstand copies on registry sets?
