Signature Series second signature over an unverified signature

Can I get a yellow label if I have a CGC-authorized witness/dealer witness an artist sign a book they previously signed without a witness? For example, they sign over their previous unverified signature on the second witnessed signature. Or is that still a qualified label? Also, what if the new signature or remarque 100% obscures the previous signature?

I feel this has been answered somewhere, but I do not know the nomenclature to get the forums to pull it up exactly.

Thank you

Hello @Raamm

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry; however, a witnessed tracing of an unwitnessed signature will not qualify for Signature Series certification / gold label. A new, separate signature can be witnessed and certified. Still, the original signature will remain uncertified, and the book will receive a Qualified Signature Series label - gold with a green qualified bar.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.
