Blastaar
Not sure if I have seen a page for the initial run appear. Is there a story about those or the possible fate of these?
tth2
Yes. Some pages appeared in a recent auction. I want to say it was Comiclink of all places, but I could be wrong. Blastaar

Popular Post comiconxion
Interior pages from issues #4-6 have been floating out there since at least the 80's or 90's. Conrad E. used to own the complete #3 book, but he broke that up over 15 years ago so those pages are now available as well. Issues #1 & 2 haven't been publicly seen. None of the covers from that timeframe have been seen either. Blastaar, Twanj, Bill C and 4 others

Sometimes people forget about or overlook pre hero marvels but to your point, if you can find art for Groot’s 1960 first appearance for sale, the hero first appearances in say 1963 are generally all available because marvel was saving its art well before that date as we can see by the existence of plenty of pre hero art. ThothAmon
I was lucky enough to buy 5 or 6 pages from Hulk 4 in the late 90’s. I believe they sold at one of the early 90’s Sotheby’s auctions. Twice up Kirby masterpieces. The guy I bought them from had the famous hulk thing meeting interior page from ff 12 that the cover swiped. My begging wasn’t enough for the seller to part with that page. rsonenthal
To the best of my (admittedly limited) knowledge, interiors exist, but no one has seen any covers pre-1964. I may be off on the exact date, but it's questionable that those early covers exist. Twanj

Popular Post Bronty
HA/CAF/Lee B show the following pre 1968 Marvel hero covers (by the time we get to 1968 they seem to show up pretty regularly). I know there are others but this list is non-exhaustive, I quit the CAF searches after a while as they were getting a lot of extraneous hits. In general though, 1967 is kind of the dividing line. After that (ie 1968 and later) they seem generally available, before that (ie 1966 and earlier) they seem generally unavailable: TOS: 84 (1966) JIM/Thor: 122 (1965) 123 (1965) 132 (1966) TTA: 86 (1966) 88 (1967) FF: 40 (1965) 52* (unpublished) 56 (1966) 71 (1967) Ann 4 (1966) Avengers 23(1965) 34 (1966) 36(1967) 37 (1967) 45 (1967) Spider-man: 11 (1964) 28 (1965) 41 (1966) 49(1967) 51(1967) 55 (1967) Annual 3 (1966) X-men 37 (1967) Strange Tales 142 (1966) 152 (1967) 158 (1967) 160 (1967) 162 (1967) Edited August 14, 2023 by Bronty batman_fan, Blastaar, tth2 and 3 others 2
