Serial Number Sticker has a defect

6 posts in this topic

Some companies (Topps) put stickers on the back with a serial number. Sometime this sticker is defective. Most times it is supposed to be silver, but it did not get the coating and you can see the card through part of it. The actual numbers are printer over that. it appears that the sticker is "scratch" but it is not. has anyone submitted a card with this situation? What was the outcome?

Thanks. Interesting. I am guessing that it would negatively affect the grade. What do you think?

I have no idea. I would think it shouldn't,  as the sticker isn't really a part of the card. Then again, what do I know?

Me either, but the CSG graders said that it would be dinged as a surface problem. Not a big ding but something

Ahh, okay. That might mean the grade can't be higher than 8.5, overall.
