I don't know how to read that stain.  Is it a printing / production error? It looks like it has been pressed.  It is odd that the stain is throughout the book.

Without the stain -- 9.2 / 9.4 with a 9.2 lean

With the stain -- clueless would like to see what more experienced guys have to say.

Thanks for the input! The stain is textural on the front cover but not on the back. The yellow staining on the top of the pages within are worse at the beginning and end of the book than in the middle. I picked the book up at a shop over 20 years ago and can’t remember now if the damage was always there or not.

It kind of looks like distributor ink that has gotten wet or something. If it's not ink from distribution or production it would land around 5.5. I'd max out around 9.0 if it was just a printing problem or a weird distributor ink mix.
