Omega the Unknown #8 1977

1st cameo appearance of Foolkiller (Greg Salinger)
2nd appearance of Nitro (Robert Hunter).
NOTE: Starting in this issue, Omega starts speaking to people in complete sentences with little provocation. In previous issues he only rarely broke his vow of silence, and only for one to three deliberate words at a time.

Omega the Unknown #10 1977

Death of Omega the Unknown
NOTE: Omega the Unknown is cancelled after this issue. The last page promises that the story will be concluded in a future issue of Defenders, which Omega co-creator Steve Gerber was also writing at the time. However, Gerber was fired from Marvel before he could fulfill this promise. The task of wrapping up the dangling plotlines would go to new Defenders writers Ed Hannigan and Steven Grant, starting in Defenders #73 (July 1979) and building to Defenders #77 (Nov. 1979).
