I bought PGX USA 9 in Fair condition and I was sweating balls when I cracked it!!!!!! I was worried.......

I'm not in the habit of telling complete strangers about my personal life.

I guess it all started back in the late 80's when I had this crazy idea to acquire every DC and Marvel comic from Fantastic Four #1 to GSXM #1 (minus romance titles) , an endeavor I pursued for many years. 

Well I still have massive feelings of regret. I don't think this therapy is working.

I've always been like that but this is becoming a real subject with me since comics have shifted to investments purely for most part now.

This became a thing with me in earnest when I was just walking around a comic shop one day and the owner was bragging to a friend about a submission he had to CGC.

He was explaining he took an incomplete key bronze marvel and married a page in it and sent it in to be graded. He got a blue label and a decent grade as it was pressed decent etc...... blah blah blah

The owner was just giddy with his ruse and the bragging about it???? I don't even know how to describe my reaction at the time..... I was more shocked at the store owner than the actual subject of the grading thing probably.

What a cheating person in life......

So here we are........ Graded things everywhere for kings ransoms and we have no clue what we are buying in reality.

This stuff is for real...... no joke my friends.....

We have zero clue if our item is legit.......

So..........

Why Do We Buy Graded Comics?

Please chime in. I need a support group................ Feel free to share your favorite raw comic you have inspected yourself!!!!!

Just FYI, this is not a board of slab-only collectors. 95% of my GA collection is raw, and I think there are more collectors like me on here than you think. (Indeed, a bit of skepticism about slabs is kind of baked into my choice of screen name.)

I think CGC provides a great service -- neither perfect nor flawless, but helpful in sales transactions above a certain FMV. I use it when it makes sense, and don't when it doesn't. I definitely love raw books, and always will.

Look at what they labeled the comic as........ It wasn't the right issue....

Look how they wrote it out so surely?????

Any basic comic expert is aware of the odd numbering in this comic run and would of not done this....

I agree completely and love the item.

I'm not against marriage what I'm against is being a comic crook and fooling CGC which has proven to not be that difficult and a temptation for even a semi crook now........

Who wouldn't try if the upside was a billion in profits and the downside was a lower grading fee due to a married page and lower value?

I want to inspect my item..........
