Why does the signed with COA trend still continue?

I've been collecting for a while, and I see this all the time....Books that I'd like to have, but the minute I see signed with COA, it's an instant no for me... Shouldn't it be apparent by now to artists in the industry that it's useless if not witnessed..Seems to me that most people couldn't care less about a green label. The fact that it's a raw copy, and unwitnessed... From my opinion, is useless at that point, COA or not...Wish it would catch on more, and they would stop signing with COA...thoughts?
