My local comic shop has been pressing my submissions to CGC. I have received an enormous amount of 9.6s on books that appear perfect all from copper/modern age. With a 9.6 obviously there are no notes. I have bought 9.6s that look much worse than my submissions from same age. On a recent book that was 8.0 it said pebbling from poor pressing. Could this be the reason for these 9.6s ? How many points does pebbiling extract from grade ?

With no notes on the 9.6's you're not going to know for sure why they downgraded.  You could hold the books under the light to see if you notice any flaws.  Pebbling would be small dents imprinted into the cover.

I would do research on who the better pressing services are. Seems like you may be leaving a lot of money on the table.

Thank you, that's what I'm saying even thought I don't sell many, plus my guy charges $40 per submission, he taxes you on grading option. He is also now a qualified CGC dealer. I really hate losing fairy

Also if anyone knows someone who is very affordable and works magic with cleaning an pressing, I would love someone to contact even multiple contacts so I can learn more about this hobby I love !
