I just felt my IQ drop 20 points reading this thread. tonofbricks.gif

Speaking of dropping 20 points, how's your gold position playing out? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Sorry to disappoint, but I took profits on the massive spike move to $540/oz. the other day. acclaim.gif

I'll back up the truck again once things stabilize.

If comic book collecting continues to decline in the future, then OA will be the first casualty.

OA will thrive under an expanding market..........not a shrinking one.

please stop making so much sense.

I had the same discussion with an avid statue collector the other week, who is convinced there is a deep future market for these new 'collector's' statues. He shrugged off my arguement- the same one as yours- as well as the fact that they are super fragile and hard to store.

I'm a little afraid of the impact of the bubble burst in CGC comics and OA that I believe is coming.

Well I should hope so. A parabolic spike if I ever saw one. It's returning to the $490 level (as I predicted last week).

Can't buy bling (or comics or OA) with predictions mon frere...only cold, hard cash! poke2.gif

Alright, how did you add the music? I could not figure out how to do it with HTML tags. Please educate me.

Thanks to Chromium for his help.

Too bad Chromium can't use or hear embedded midi anymore since he switched to Firefox foreheadslap.gif

The belief that OA cant survive without comics is erroneous. As long as the images are properly franchised. Spider-man,..Batman,..Wonder-Woman,..etc...the art has/ and will continue to transcend the comic medium.

I know I shouldn't, but I'll ask:

Who exactly are these phantom collectors who are discovering original art through superhero movies and franchising, as opposed to discovering it through comic collecting? Are there many examples of this phenomenon? confused-smiley-013.gif

I honestly dont have data on this issue.

My point is that markets dont work in progressive-linear fashinions. Assuming that the pasts development of OA from comics is a necessary condition for continued development is exactly that,..an assumption. I believe this assumption is wrong.

I dont know where the money will flow from,...Japan ?,....Hollywood Movie Directors,...Hedge-funds,......some kid who saw Spider-man 'The Movie' with his dad when he was three and is the next Bill Gates,.......or even some low-level comic collector with some $$$. My point is simply that the image as art,..AND artifact,..transcends the the comic book and it is a myopic notion to assume that comic collecting is/ and will in the future continue to be the gateway to OA collecting.

It must be scary to live inside the head of a person who everyday nurish an obsessive idea build upon speculative/imaginary future scenarios to justify the endless and repetitive rambling of OA seen/reduced only as $$$ investisement. frown.gif

sad and scary... frown.gif

You guys are thinking of this by looking at the past. Events are more fluid and random than you guys give history credit for. Moreover,...EGO and STATUS demand more than VG- copies. Lastly,...you guys are thinking as one with limited cash flow,..not everybody is a poor schmuck.

KK

Absolutely. After comic books, original art is the best investment you can make. Anything related to comics can only increase in value as time goes by.

You had so much promise. Now you are merely a hack-shill,..so sad,..so sad,...!
