PGM - Fantastic Four #56 - manufactured w one staple

I'd call it a strong 8.0.  I had the same question with a "single-staple" Tales of Suspense #94 I posted a few days ago.  No one in the group seemed to detract much of anything for it, and perhaps that supports my personal feelings: "as far as defects go, it's never been something that bothers me".  The edge tear on the back cover is the main thing holding it back from a higher grade.  It has some oxidation/dust shadow along the edges consistent with the age of the book, but otherwise it's a very pretty and clean book.

If they treat 1 staple like no staples, it will get a Qualified label. Either way, no impact on grade.

Manufactured without staples, then Qualified.  Manufactured without top or bottom staple only, then Universal:foryou:

Personally, I think either should get a "Gold Star" label if they survived with staples left out. Makes them so much more susceptible to damage (or losing wraps)

For real! I’ve never had a book with one staple and handling it is an adventure even though this one is structurally great.
