Graded high is different than high grade.

The collection is well known to be over graded.

I'm aware of the general consensus on that however, a graded 9.4 which may be over graded and is in reality a 9.0, is still a high grade book. Unless of course you don't consider VF/NM to be high grade. So I'm confused how a VF or better book can have a wrong back cover (shrug)

They weren't all high grade.  The Whiz Comics, the first incorrect cover caught, was like a 1 or something.  The second one I saw, I don't remember the title, was also grade pretty low.

Been a couple years, I don't remember the details.

How the F do you catch a different staple and miss that back cover replacement? That's like catching a burned out headlight on a '57 Cadillac but missing that the rear end is from an AMC Gremlin.

I don't recall ever seeing a pre-1946 DC comic with that back cover.
