grader's notes re: trimming 0

I've seen top edge of cover noted, and I've seen top edge noted.

If it says "top edge" only, were the pages absolutely trimmed as well?

Great question! Generally, if the notes dictate a specific page/cover, then only that portion of the book is trimmed. If however the notes state {general location} trimmed then it is very likely all pages and the cover in that area have been trimmed.
