Submission in G/E/I

Looking for an update on Submission #4484266 - This submission has been in G/E/I status for a week now. Everything I've read and seen has indicated that once a submission hits this stage that this process is usually completed and the order is shipped within 24-48 hours. This is a relatively small order of just 7 books. Just wondering if there's some kind of problem with this submission that's holding it up, or if there's just normal delays going on. Please advise.

Hello @nateblaum,

I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused. There is no set timeline a submission will stay at one status or another. We use the total turnaround time for the best estimate on when an order will be completed. This has currently been in process for 28 of its 30 estimated business days in house. With the hurricane that took place last week, this may go a tad past this estimated turnaround time but rest assured you are nearing the end. Thanks for your patience!

So when this submission was submitted the estimated turnaround time was only 21 days, and then as the submission sat in scheduled for grading it changed to 24 days and then eventually 28 days.. I'm just looking for clarification. If I send in a batch of books, and the ETA when the batch is received is (ABC) days, and while sitting in queue the ETA changes to (XYZ) days, which ETA applies to the books I've sent? Logically speaking, if orders are "first in, first out" then the ETA of (ABC) should apply to orders received and scheduled prior to the ETA changing to (XYZ) days. Is that right?

Hello @nateblaum

We understanding turnaround times are important to our customers. For the best estimate on when submissions will be completed, we use the most up to date turnaround time. While these submissions are done in a first come first serve basis, there can be other accommodations that could cause longer turnaround times like our team being out of the office for an onsite grading show which happened recently or even in the case of Hurricane Helene, our office closing. Thanks for checking! Let us know if you have any other questions.

agreed. It’s disheartening seeing books from the Lenil Francis Yu and Bagley signing completed on 9/18 and 9/22 already back in people’s hands but we have books delivered in August with 15 day estimated turnaround time that still aren’t back. CGC has gotta figure it out, it’s a slap in the face to those waiting for months on end while expediting these private signings to the front of the line.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think that really answered my specific question. I get that you use the most "up to date " turnaround time, but what I'm asking is when that timer starts for a specific submission. In my case, I had a submission in back in mid-august. When the submission was received, the current turnaround time was 21 days. During that 21 day time period the turnaround time changed to 24 days, and eventually 28+ days. My submission did in fact ship out on the 29th day, which would have 1 day over the latest turnaround time (not a big deal) BUT it was over a week past the original turnaround time that was set when the submission was received by CGC. I'm not upset or angry, I'm just trying to get clarification so that I will know what to expect for future submissions.

agreed. the turnaround times just continue to get longer as our submissions sit in the office behind onsite orders that couldn't be finished, in house signings and fast track. We should be given the option to pay for fast track if the turnaround time changes while our item is received by the facility. my items were received on 8/28 when turnaround time was 15 days and turnaround time is now 30 days. I understand things happen but a double in turnaround time due to things that are in CGC's control like choosing to offer on site grading, in house signings and moving all the fast track ahead of those books that are already in the queue is a slap in the face to us.
