Across The Pond Studios’ CGC Exclusive Variant Cover Featured in Industry’s Premiere Magazine

January 27, 2006, Port St. Lucie, FL – Across the Pond Studios and CGC have teamed up to create an exclusive variant edition of ATP’s February shipping title, Atomik Mike #1 and Wizard magazine has taken notice. In Wizard #173, on sale now, writer Rickey A. Purdin writes, “Collectors searching for the next hot item may need to look no further than the newest team-up between CGC and Across the Pond Studios’ Atomik Mike series.”

This project marks the first time a publisher has created a cover specifically intended to be sealed on a CGC graded book. The Atomik Mike #1 variant will only be available in CGC grades of 9.8 or higher and are available for pre-order now but won’t be shipped until February. To get one, log onto the comicspriceguide.com web site: https://www.comicspriceguide.com/promotion.asp . The variant is limited to 500 copies. To assure that everyone that buys a copy of the variant will be able to read the story, orders will include a non-slabbed, readable copy of Atomik Mike #1 as well.

“CGC has been great to work with and we’re more than pleased to be the first publisher to supply them with a new cover specifically and exclusively for this type of project,” said publisher Stephan Nilson. “The fact that Wizard, the most read magazine about comics, has written about it and given it their seal of approval only adds to its credibility and I’m sure it will help drive sales.”

Atomik Mike is written by Stephan Nilson and features art by Israel Cruz. In the story, Mike had everything; a fast ship, a great girlfriend and even a cool nickname. The only thing Mike was missing was his human body. Transformed into a monkey by an arch-rival, Captain Tariq, Mike must find a way to maintain his presence as the fastest cargo hauler and space jockey. Aided by his loyal crew of misplaced humans, aliens and droids they continue to search for a means to reverse Mike’s condition while still turning a profit.
