Search his old ones. It is pretty clear that book is color touched. With a flipping purple sharpie no doubt.

Nevermind, it was completed when I looked at it. Yes, it is a small touch of looks like blue ball point pen.

And someone paid over $300 bucks for that book!

I also find it weird that as listings for newer books the grade comes down more and more, but for older ones the grade creeps up and up

I think you were right to be wary, Nikos. Tom Murnane was right on with the color touch observation of this Avengers 9, and (at the risk of sounding too paranoid) I would be worried about a top overhang trim as well. The spine and other edges have light wear, but that top edge is absolutely razor-sharp. And since no resto was disclosed on THIS book.....
