Anyone purchased from John Haines?

He has some mid-grade Nedors on eBay. Nice books, but the prices are too high, and his scans are way too small.

I've bought from John many times. He's a good grader, knows what he's doing, and has good books. His prices are high, but you can negotiate with him.

I'm glad to hear he's a tight grader, but his pricing really is strange. He's almost double guide on 4.0 and 4.5 copies, but he's only guide + 25% on an 8.5.

so they're scarcer in [embarrassing lack of self control] grade than high grade?

Timulty, I've got a pretty good handle on the Nedor market. All the issues I'm talking about are hard to come by, but I don't think any of them are more difficult than the others.

 

Nedors in mid to low grade tend to sell for about guide. Gerber no-shows sell higher, but that's not the case here.

I was making supposition on the facts availiable. So, apparently scarcity isn't a factor then. Could be the dealer sets a high price in the hopes that someone not familiar with the pricing will buy?
