Expected price was between $500 and $900....I told Chrisco last week I thought I would have a shot with a $750 bid....

Guess I was wrong... BIGTIME

 

And don't forget the 18% buyer's premium...

Heck the juice is higher than the expected maximum sale price

Wow! That is a a hell of a lot of money. Ya gotta love those Hulk crossovers in the late 70's early 80's. He was the wild card in the Marvel universe for so long. I think he made apperances in almost all the main Marvel titles - DD, FF, Cap, Iron Man.

Great stuff --- but 5K for a cover is just insane...

$5k is probably double previous market value on Bob Layton Iron Man covers from this period that Marvel fanboyz love (Byrne/Austin X-men, Perez Avengers). X-over covers with major Marvel heroes or villians (Dr Doom) always get more bids.
