Marvel Cut

Hello,

 

I have a book that looks like the right edge of the book in this link:

 

Avengers 2

 

Was it normal for books to have an odd cut? If you look at the upper right vs the lower right, it's almost at a slight angle on the upper portion. The comic code is sheared off and Thor's hammer swing is slightly smaller.

 

I'm wondering because my book is graded and it didn't come back as restored. Now I see this copy on E-bay and they are almost identical. Just curious if Marvel is notorious for it in the Silver Age stuff (dull blades or such).

It is common for that issue to be cut like that.

Ive seen several books that are cut like that. I have one (or used to) but cant remember it. I think its a TTA. I too have heard that it is common for the book to be miscut vertically.
