nice books. CGC's really not all that keen on putting lots of info on these labels, are they?

#4 is a grail book for me , I still own the copy I owned as a kid that I bought off a spinner rack.

 

All written on and beat up, but I still have it

 

That 9.8 would go nicely next to it.

As I mentioned on another thread, the Invaders are what got me into collecting back when I was a kid. I know they aren't the most popular run in comic history, but they have always been my favorite.

Nice set you have there. I recently picked up a bunch of high grade raw copies and I'm looking forward to going through these. man they really screwed up the last attempt to revive this series, the art was horrendous.

I agree. I was extremely disappointed in the overall effort. Art, stories, killing the Torch. frustrated.gif

 

I know Roy Thomas is out of fashion, but he was something special. I'd love to see him do some more Invaders stuff. The Giant Size Invaders 2 was not enough.

 

I am enjoying the current Captain America run.

this was the ideal - ideal, i say - series for Roy Thomas as far as Marvel titles are concerned

Brubaker on Cap has been awesome. Killing off the Torch still irks me to no end. It amazes me how they have misused this character for the past 45 years. He would have been a great full time addition to a squad like the Avengers. They need to bring him back and perhaps tewk his character just a touch so that he is still the original Torch but perhaps with more depth than just a plain android.

How can they bring him back when the Vision is supposed to be the Golden Age Torch?
