Shipping costs from UK

I won a 6 comic auction from the United Kingdom. Seller is charging me 12.99GBP or about $24. Fair or not?

 

My estimates, using www.usps.com, and my past experience with the UK, suggest it is high.

 

Suggestions?

for 6 raw that's high by about a third even factoring in good packaging

 

 

I can send 2 cgc's by airmail for the same amount (and not much more for 3)

Way too high. Even with the water weak dollar he shouldn't be charging more then $15 tops.

When I send a very thick and heavy book, many times as heavy as 6 comics, to the US a year ago it only cost me £5.87 with insurance

He started by charging 19GBP. I mentioned the high cst and he came dowbn to 12.99GBP. I am considering questioning it again but wanted to get some opinions.

don't underestimate the weight of good packaging though, especially if you are sending in a box.

 

I sent a single cgc comic to Divad last week, and the cost of that was about £9 gbp

 

of course the seller charging 12.99 will probably just put 6 raws in a jiffy bag.

Waaaaaaaaay high. I was charging about $12 for six books.

He claims that his postage was for "Airmail Airsure"

 

 

He has now come down to 8.99GPB. He also sounds very genuine and anxious to get me off his back. I will probably pay him an even 10GPB so help ensure a healthy transaction.

that price seems okay for airsure, as it has a large premium over standard airmail
