Scan amplifies the foxing (if that's what it is) on the back cover.

Really? I must be missing something major because I'm thinking 8.0 on this one. 4 spine ticks, sharp edges and corners. Unless this cover is supposed to be white I can't see it any lower than 8.0

A little too harsh methinks, but then he may really hate foxing and cream pages . . .

 

Structurally, a 7.5, and knock off a half point each for the foxing and PQ . . . solid 6.5

I have a DD #8 with same foxing on the back cover, and with less stress lines on the spine. It was a CGC 6.0 copy before i open it. It's explain my 5.5

Hmm, I didn't even notice the fading. I thought it was a product of the scan. That completely changes the grade. A 5.0 seems reasonable.
