Buying First Piece Of Original Artwork (Chaykin Baby!)

As some of you might know from my username, I am a fan of Howard Chaykin's work. I recently decided that I wanted at least one piece of his artwork and since I like the way he draws Hawkgirl, I set my sights on getting a cover from this series.

 

I contacted Howard, who pointed me to Mitch at Graphic Collectables. I inquired about the cover to Hawkgirl #58, which Howard did the cover for and can be seen in DC's November solicitations. Mitch told me that although he couldn't sell it to me until after it debuts in November, I could put a 25% deposit on it now and pay the rest later.

 

So, here is the color version of what I am buying:

This is quite true. I still buy comics, but mainly to read - what a concept!
