That is really astounding because the bid, of course, doesn't increase without at least two people (or more) raising it so at least two people were willing to pay in the neighborhood of 28K. That's a good illustration of what happens when someone really wants a book regardless of the sales data. WOW!

Ok, BIG DAY - ASM #40!!!  This has gotta be my favorite Spider-Man cover EVER!  The layout, the colors, it's just the best.  

First up, the copy I picked up a looooooooong time back that I eventually graded last year and just sold.

It hurt to part with it, but I've still got this one!  My wife picked it up for me - how and where I still don't know, but she knew I loved it so she got me this as a surprise.  It's a keeper, as is she!

It's just as bright in person, but that's my scanner for ya.  Maybe I'll adjust a few settings...

I'm just gonna post a few #39s before we hit midnight here and get to #40 day. The first one is a Dutch copy from 1967, the second a German copy from "a little later."

Numbers 39 & 40 are two of my very favorite non-Ditko Spidey covers and I LOVE having different printings from different countries of them. I won't indulge myself TOO much here ... just a little .... they're my only weakness .... Signed by the cover artist, John Romita!

At 1st I thought it was @Sweet Lou 14 as I remembered he was looking for a 7 9.4 for a long time but I checked his registry and he found one so I wonder if another boardie bought it.
