Color Guides

I have been trying to figure out the value and collectibility of color guides. Most seem to not go for very much unless it is a significant issue $20 to $50. There is a Ebay store with the color guide to JLA/Avengers #4 going for $750. I am guessing the cover could go for $8000 (so roughtly 10% of the OA). That seems a little much but I could be wrong. I remember seeing the Silver Surfer #1 complete book color guide on Heritage. Does anyone know how much that went for?

I doubt a color guide for JLA avengers is worth 750 true the art is worth probably 5 to 6 grand the color guide isn't worth 10 %

I like how color guides look - I just don't think they will ever be worth much. I'd love to be wrong on this one though.
